Somos/Escuelita Aztlan (EAZ) organized a solidarity convivio with North County San Diego farmworkers. Many farmworkers in North County live deep in the canyons in makeshift camps. EAZ students hiked down into the canyon with food, clothes, and supplies to donate to the workers in this labor camp. A big “gracias” to compa José Gonzalez of the Frente Indígena Oaxaqueño Binacional (FIOB) for helping us the coordinate the visit. EAZ is a 100% independent, community-based, youth-led Saturday school. 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of Somos Raza barrio youth project, founded in 1986 by Ernesto Bustillos as a project of Unión del Barrio.
